Shinobu Kocho (胡蝶しのぶ) was a major supporting character in the 2016-2020 fantasy horror manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and its 2019 anime television series adaption. She is the Insect Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps and a supporting character from the Demon Slayer series.
Shinobu Kocho is also the younger sister of Kanae Kocho along with her adoptive younger sister Kanao Tsuyuri. After a demon killed her parents, Shinobu joined the Demon Slayer Corps along with her sister in order to protect others from suffering the same fate as her.
Does shinobu kocho like tanjiro?
In some ways, Tanjiro is his closest friend (aside from his late friend Sabito, and, to some extent, fellow Hashira Shinobu Kocho). One of the next things we wanted the answer to was does Tanjiro like Shinobu?
Shinobu helps train Tanjiro during his rehabilitation period, and, while she initially does not understand his drive to protect his Demon sister, she does grow to care for him. Though she trained Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, she seems to be the closest (or, is at least the least irritated) with Tanjiro because unlike Zenitsu and Inosuke, he.
But when Kanao begins opening up and expresses her wish to train beside her specifically, Shinobu is very happy. Shinobu holds great trust in Kanao, as she entrusted her with avenging Kanae’s death while using herself as a sacrifice.
Does shinobu like giyuu?
Although Giyu maintains a cold and distant stance, among all the pillars, Shinobu is the one who has the best relationship with him. Shinobu and Giyu at Natagumo Mountain Arc Shinobu says that Giyuu is hated by other people, which can seem mean, but in reality she actually supports him.
One question we ran across in our research was “Why does Shinobu bully Giyu?”.
Tl;dr: While Shinobu does tease Giyuu quite a bit, she doesn’t enjoy bullying him – instead she taunts him as a way of letting her frustrations out while carrying on Kanae’s memory/wishes. Whew, that was a lot.
This begs the question “Why does Shinobu hate Giyu?”
Shinobu telling Giyuu that “nobody likes him” is actually her attempt of making him be more open and social to their comrades. Because Giyuu staying silent and frequently distancing himself from the other Pillars is his coping mechanism, and is unhealthy for him as far as Shinobu is concerned.

However, thanks to Shinobu’s body being heavily saturated with poison, Doma is severely weakened and is eventually successfully slain by Kanao and Inosuke. Inside of Limbo, Doma, having heard and been touched by Shinobu’s strong faith and belief in her comrades and fellow Demon Slayers’ ability to defeat the demons and slay Muzan, seemingly begins to develop genuine feelings of romantic attraction towards Shinobu.
But Shinobu is still shown to trust her sister deeply and support her sister’s decision despite not initial agreeing with her at first, as seen when the two adopted and made off with their adoptive little sister Kanao Tsuyuri .
Did DOMA like Shinobu?
Shinobu holds a strong resentment and hatred for Doma, due to him killing her older sister, Kanae. This hatred and disgust becomes even stronger when she actually meets him and comes to understand and see first-hand his twisted personality and ideas about giving his disciples “salvation” by killing and eating them.
